The International Undergraduate Surgical Conference (INUGSC) is the largest student-led surgical conference in the UK, hosted annually by the Surgical Society of University College London (UCL). The INUGSC 2025/26 committee would like to extend a warm invitation to students from your medical school to attend our upcoming conference, which will take place on the 7th–8th of March 2026 at the Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.
Our conference welcomes all students — not only those aspiring to pursue surgery, but also those interested in exploring the field and learning from leading experts.. We are confident that INUGSC 2026 will be an inspiring, innovative, and intellectually stimulating experience for your students, and we would be delighted to have them join us in London. The theme for this year’s conference is “Initiate, Innovate, Interrelate.” Through this theme, we aim to:
- Initiate — explore bold ideas for surgery’s future.
- Innovate — witness the ways in which cutting-edge research is transforming surgical practice.
- Interrelate — connect across the world, embrace diversity in surgery and how it builds bridges across communities.
Our programme will feature internationally renowned speakers, interactive hands-on workshops, and panel discussions designed to inspire and empower the next generation of surgical leaders. In addition, we are pleased to announce that our abstract competition is now open. Students are invited to submit original research or literature review for the chance to present at the conference. The submission deadline is 15th January 2026, and further details — including guidelines and awards — can be found in the documents found towards the bottom of this email.
As in previous years, INUGSC 2026 will be offering both in-person and online attendance options to ensure accessibility for all students worldwide. We will announce ticket details, including pricing and package options, in the coming months.
Students planning to travel internationally for the in-person event are encouraged to check visa requirements early and contact us should they need any supporting documentation.
