In order to obtain the degree, attendance for 12 academic semesters and the accumulation of a total of at least 360 credits (ECTS) are required.
More specifically, a student of the Undergraduate Study Programme (USP) of the Department of Medicine is required, according to the current curriculum, to meet the following requirements to obtain the degree:
- Successful completion of the 59 Compulsory Courses of the Undergraduate Study Programme.
- Successful completion of a total of 14 Compulsory Elective courses of the Undergraduate Study Programme, out of which four (4) courses must be from Group A courses and ten (10) from Group B.
- Successful completion of any other educational activity provided for by the Undergraduate Study Programme.
During the final year, students will be having a full-time supervised clinical training at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis.
Upon successful completion, the students receive the Medical Degree (Ptychio), which is in accordance with the EU Directive 2005/36/E and gives them access to postgraduate studies (Masters), Doctorate in Medical Science (Doctorate Diplomas) and a licence to practice the medical profession in the Public and Private Sector.
