Laboratory / Clinic
The Laboratory of Histology – Embryology of the Department of Medicine (DUTH) was established and operates within the Preclinical buildings and at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis (PGNA), in accordance with Presidential Decrees 459/87 and 259/2000, Government Gazettes 227/Α/23-10-2000, PD 393/2001, Government Gazette 272/30-11-2001, and Rector’s Decision No. DUTH/DDK/TDA/55208/6070/698/25-7-2017 (B’ 3298).
Since 2017, the Molecular Histology and Perinatal Screening Unit has been established and operates within the Laboratory (Government Gazette 3298/20.09.2017, Issue B).
Introductory Page
The Laboratory operates within the Morphological – Clinical-Laboratory Sector of the Department of Medicine. Its purpose is the study of fetal tissues and membranes in embryos with or without congenital malformations, as well as the molecular investigation of various pathological conditions. The Laboratory is located in Building 3 of the Preclinical years, ground floor, in Dragana – Alexandroupolis.
Lab of Histology – Embryology, Medical School, Democritus University of Thrace, 3rd building of Preclinical section, ground floor. The aim of this Laboratory is the research on congenital malformations, virus infections and congenital malformations, and diseases of pregnant women affecting the fetus. Molecular evaluation of various pathological conditions or neoplasia.
